We are looking for a Team Leader who will take responsibility for defining and managing ratings model change management and control processes. The position requires collaboration with ratings analysts, financial engineering, research groups, compliance, regulatory affairs, and credit policy to determine and represent the methodology used to verify, document, maintain, and communicate regarding ratings models used at Moody's Investors Service.
- Design and oversee change management and control processes for ratings models.
- Define and monitor standards for model specification, test plan and other documentation.
- Explain/represent overall process to internal audit, regulatory affairs, and other groups.
- Select and maintain systems to be used to administer and manage models.
- Train and mentor analysts and financial engineers in overall process and use of tools.
- Identify, hire,develop and manage a diverse, high performing team Job Requirements
- 7+ years of overall work experience with a minimum of 2 years
- 7+ experience with process management (model management preferred; SOX, 7+ SAS-70 or other control processes may be appropriate)
- Understanding of financial model development including model design, implementation, and testing
- Strong project management and process design skills
- Understanding of programming practices and testing methodologies
- Experience with source code control, document management, and other systems relevant to change management
- Hard working, easy to work with, and a willingness to learn new technologies
- An undergraduate degree in a relevant field such as finance, economics, statistics, mathematics, or physics. The person must have a good understanding of financial theory such as fixed income and credit risk.
- Graduate degree preferred in financial engineering or business administration with concentration in finance

Description of Position: The Financial Engineering Program at the School of Systems and Enterprises (SSE) at Stevens Institute of Technology is one of the fastest growing programs at the School. Providing both traditional semester programming and online distance learning via Stevens WebCampus, this program offers a ten-course, thirty credit Masters of Science in Financial Engineering, as well as a four-course, 12 credit Graduate Certificate. The Master of Science in Financial Engineering has tracks in Quantitative Financial Engineering, Information and Modeling Technology, Database and Networks, and the option to complete an MBA in Technology Management with a Concentration in Financial Engineering.
The full-time Service Professor in Financial Engineering will be responsible for:
- Teaching 5 graduate courses total per year, both online and on campus
- The development and marketing of graduate level FE courses
- Supervising FE graduate students.
There will be opportunities for research within the position.

Description of Position: Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) is one of the largest asset managers in the world. It offers a wide range of products and services, including a large family of domestic and international bond, equity and multi-asset class funds for individual and institutional investors. Funds of private equity and hedge funds are offered through MSIM's Alternative Investment Partners unit.
MSIM is looking to fill a Senior Associate/Vice President level position, based in New York, in the Alternative Investments Risk Group, part of the Global Risk and Analysis group. The group provides the investment risk assessment in the due diligence process for new hedge funds, the measurements and monitoring of performance and investment risk for alternative funds and the hedging of the seed capital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Automate processes geared towards capturing evolving risk profiles. As such the analyst is expected to master in a short time existing risk analytics and develop interfaces to existing applications
- Produce risk analysis and perform risk monitoring for existing Alternative Investments funds
- Interface porftolio managers in discussion of risk and performance drivers. Derive the portfolio manager's implicit market assumptions and hence stress them.
Skills Required:
- Masters level degree with concentration in Finance or in a quantitative discipline
- A minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in the financial services industry with emphasis on Credit risk.
- IT experience is a plus
- Familiarity with Alternative Investment Strategies and risk management methodologies
- Strong programming skills such as VBA, SQL, MS Access, SAS, Bloomberg DDE and MS Office automation are considered a plus.
