William Miller is the Senior Risk Manager for the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority
located in the United Arab Emirates. Previously, he had been
associated with the Rockefeller Foundation as a Risk Management
Adviser, the Commonfund as Senior Vice President and Independent Risk
Oversight Officer, and with General Motors as Director, Trading
Operations and Asset Mix Management, having a variety of other
assignments in investments, treasury and engineering while at GM.
Mr.
Miller serves on the Board of Directors, Audit Committee and Market
Regulation Oversight Committee (Chairman) of the Chicago Mercantile
Exchange; the Board of Directors and Audit and Risk Management
Committee (Chairman) of the Dubai International Financial Exchange; and
the Board of Directors and Audit Committee (Chairman) of the BTOP50
Index Fund. In addition, Mr. Miller is the Chairman of the End
Users of Derivatives Council and serves on the Advisory Board for the
Master of Science in Financial Engineering program for Kent State
University.
In the
past, Mr. Miller has served on the Board of Directors of such
organizations as the Association for Financial Professionals, New York
Futures Exchange and GLOBEX. In addition, he has served on the
CFTC's Regulatory Coordination Advisory Committee and the Financial
Products Advisory Committee. Mr. Miller also served as an
industry expert in developing "Best Practices for Organized Electronic
Markets." Mr. Miller has testified before the U.S. Congress on several
occasions on market, risk management and accounting matters. He
has also testified before FASB on accounting matters. He is
published in Euromoney's "The Salomon Smith Barney Guide to World
Equity Markets 1998" as well as Risk Books' "Alternative Investment
Strategies" and "Managing Hedge Fund Risk."
Mr.
Miller is a Chartered Financial Analyst and has served on the
Association for Investment Management and Research's Task Force on
Market Risk Disclosure, the Sub-Committee on Performance Presentation
Standards for leveraged instruments, venture capital and real estate as
well as the Sub-Committee on Continuing Education.
