Student Resources

Undergraduate and graduate students are an increasingly significant portion of the IAFE´s membership. In response, the IAFE continues to plan more programs to meet student interests.

We encourage all students interested in the field of financial engineering or financial mathematics to use the IAFE’s web site as their first resource. To the right, you will see links to a listing of financial engineering academic programs, a core body of knowledge in financial engineering, as well as a FAQ section to address basic questions about pursuing a degree in financial engineering. We also encourage students to browse the IAFE’s Bookstore, to find titles that can provide more depth in their studies.

A major resource for graduate students is the IAFE’s Annual Career Fair for Financial Mathematics, which it co-hosts with NYU’s Courant Institute for Mathematical Sciences. This past fall marked our second annual event. Over two hundred students attended to meet recruiters from top-tier financial institutions, such as Bear Stearns, Citigroup and JPMorgan Chase. Please take a look at this year’s Career Fair web site to get a better sense of the event.

Finally, the IAFE has also recently formed an Education Committee, whose goal is to raise awareness among students, educators and employers about the field of financial engineering. Stay tuned for upcoming Education Committee programs to address the interests of undergraduate and graduate students.
