David Schwartz is a managing director at Duff & Phelps as part of the Complex Asset Solutions practice. His experience
in pricing, trading, structuring and analyzing complex financial instruments spans 15 years.
David's focus includes valuation and advisory services related to structured products and exotic financial derivatives.
He leads the valuation of large portfolios for hedge funds and other clients that contain residential and commercial
mortgage-backed securities, cash and synthetic CDOs, and derivative products with interest rate, corporate and
currency exposures. He also serves as a consulting expert in high-profile litigation cases.
Previously, David managed the advisory business of Dynamic Credit Partners, LLC, which completed over 90 projects
on a global basis and was acquired by Duff & Phelps in late 2010. He was a principal of the firm and its chief operating
officer. As trader and portfolio manager for Dynamic’s 12 investment vehicles, he traded over $5 billion in CDOs, asset
-backed securities, credit default swaps and index products.
Prior to joining Dynamic, David was a strategist at Morgan Stanley, where he focused on cash and synthetic CDOs and
credit derivatives. Previously he was a strategist at Goldman Sachs, where he structured, priced and hedged exotic
derivatives on currencies and commodities for multinational corporations.
David serves on the Board of Directors of the International Association of Financial Engineers (IAFE). He received his
M.A. in mathematics of finance from Columbia University and his A.B. in applied mathematics from Harvard University.
He is also a CFA charterholder.
